I implemented an app for 3d printing companies which can provide instant quotes when you upload a 3d model. The backend was hosted by Google Cloud, specifically Cloud Run. By wrapping popular slicers like Prusa Slicer and Cura in a Docker container and exposing the API using Cloud Run this created low cost and scalable solution. To put it in perspective hosting such project by renting individual servers would cost hundreds of dollars per month even if you had no users. However, by using new serverless cloud technologies, you are only charged for a couple of seconds of server time the app uses.The frontend was implemented partially in React and partially in Bubble. Bubble is a visual app builder so it is much faster and cheaper that traditional development, however less flexible.

The app uses Stripe Connect payment gateway which lets you process and split payments between multiple merchants.
